You have no idea how much we would enjoy that. I'll keep asking her about that and see if any of our vacations will work (and make sure we don't show up there while your up HERE. LOL)

Re: Baptist Pastor Shot In Pulpit Today

I am somewhat surprised at some of the responses on this thread. With all due respect I think some people see Jesus as weak and passive......yet it was Jesus who said "when a strong man fully armed, guards his house, his possessions are safe." (Luke 11:21) and other places Jesus spoke of the strong man of the house protecting the house.

Sheep may not be killers but shepherds surely are....you mess with the sheep and they will kill to protect and defend........anything less is just a hireling.

I will not fight, kill or wound in defense of myself over God and the gospel........but in defense of my family and human life......you better believe it!

BTW......for those that think that in a situation where you or others are under fire, that you can aim for the knees...............you have seen too much Hollywood.......in real life scenarios you will aim for mass and don't have time to aim to only distract or disable.

Key point!

For some who would kneel down and pray in the middle of a home invasion asking for God to protect them, God is probably thinking "That is what I put you there for!".

If you claim to be a sheep and kill with a gun, for any reason, then you really need to take a step back and examine what you really are, if you claim to be a Christian, a sheep, and a child of a loving, forgiving God, who expects the same from his elect.
If someone pushed you aside, grabbed one your kids, and started to walk away with them, what would you do? To what extent would you go to stop them? Would you cry out to God? Beyond that, would you stand idly by as seemingly God's will was being done? Just curious.

The words of Jesus:

Matthew 5

38Ye have heard that it hath been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth:

39But I say unto you, That ye resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite thee on thy right cheek, turn to him the other also.
