Now thats funny right there. Omelette? I'm still trying to scamble an egg. One time I have to drink it, the next time I have to scrape it out of the pan. Someone said you can scramble an egg in the microwave. Can't not. Unless you enjoy cleaning scrambled eggs out of the microwave.

Re: My Dinner Failed!!!
You've seen the aprons that say "Never Trust a Skinny Cook", well then it should follow that you can trust a fat cook...
That being said, my talents may be few I can cook and usually do fairly well. I love the Food Network and also have had good success w/internet recipes. With experience comes the ability to spot a bad recipe. Some ingredients just wave the flag of disaster.
Eeons ago when I was in Jr Hi and we had required Home Ec, (that is a long time ago! ) Whenever my parents left the house I would bake and experiment.
I was making popovers, not sure why, but this was an important home ec food. I decided to add flavorings, and put different extracts in each custard cup. Stick with vanilla and maybe orange. The black walnut was awful, my little brother wouldn't eat it. We tossed quite a few. Some things mothers were not meant to know.
I think I made Peanut Butter bread from a Good Housekeeping recipe (again many years past) and it was just bad---heavy and tasted yuk...it had to be tossed.

My friend's wife onetime made us beef stroganoff.
She did not have one of the ingredients.
So it turned out like glue mixed with meat.
Well when she left the room we feed it to his dogs.
She came out and told us...
I am surprised you ate all that...
It was a bit dry...
We told her we needed to run out for a bit.
We went right to Burger King and ordered 2 Whoppers each..
I still tell her with a smile, I loved your Beef Stroganoff.
It is a good private joke with me and my buddy...

Is it ok to just laugh at you?
One year I took my ex-girlfriend to Hawaii. While there, I wanted to "treat" her to some of my cooking!
Everything I tried to cook turned out horrible! The steak was too dry, the vegetables didn't cook right-- even the drink concoction I made tasted bad.
She told me so too!
We both laughed about it and I took her shopping that evening and she coked for us the rest of the trip.

So you found out that Unsweetened Red Grape Juice Chicken is not near as good as Chicken Marsala huh?
The internet mislead someone?
Whoda thunk it.

Re: My Dinner Failed!!!
Once I made Zucchini Bread, only I bought cucumbers, thinking they were zucchini, because they look alike somewhat (ok, I was very young). Anyway, the PICKLE BREAD was not a hit.
