Yes! I can smell it just thinking about it. There are a few things that trigger childhood memories, but heat turning on for the first time and the school supplies are two of them!
Also, the smell of the paper in school - it was memographed - not copied. Of course, you young thangs won't have a clue. I remember doing the church bulletin on one of those things!

Burning leaves has that same affect too - however, I don't get the chance to smell those anymore.

And the paper cutter with that big blade. It's wonder kids didn't lose fingers when the teacher let them use it.
