A lot of this mess started under the Republicans.
If things were so great under Bush, people would have voted en mass for McCain.
Will Obama be better?
I don't think so.

What is this reference to Canada?
We have had Liberals/Conservatives in power for the past 15 years.

In that 15 years they have had 'Balanced Budgets" & in the past 10 years have paid 80 - 90 Billion on the Government Deficit.

Sound socialist or Republican to you?
Yes we have Gay marriage--so do you.
It is a world wide phenomenon indicative of the end time more than a particular President.

Remember I said that this board was "Bi-Polar?"

Is God coming back?
Yes!
Are things going to go to pot first?
Yes, most likely.
Will Christians face hardships & yes persecution?
Probably.

So, if that is happening, there is not "much" we can do about it.
We can sit and mope or we can try to build a Church with people redeemed for God, knowing that this whole Earth is under God's Judgment!

Act 1:6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
Act 1:7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.
I totally disagree with the above statement. Barney Franks (and his friends)and his lying over Fanny Mea, Freddie Mac-had to do a lot with what happened to our economy- and selling fraudulent mortgages to unqualified home owners didn't help either-(that came through the Clinton Admin. btw)

Ron, Canada is more liberal when it comes to gay rights than the US is.

I was just getting a little tired of people putting others down for feeling passionate about our election at what was happening and what the results were.

Just because I feel passionate about the electoral process and some of the ballot measures doesnt mean I dont trust God, and it also doesnt mean I dont have thing in perspective. Just because someone follows the political process doesn't mean they are trusting in the world and not God- that is just foolishness!

I agree with everything you said save the part in bold.
Sorry. but the US is not as Conservative as it once was.

Being passionate is good.
I am as well.
In the last election federally, most of my Province went Conservative & in my riding in particular, there was a three way split among the candidates on the vote with two thirds voting for someone else, but with the far left candidate still getting a slim majority.

Not happy with it, but it is what it is.

Sorry if I said or implied you don't trust God.

Its just a matter of time.
TR, you maybe right-but to criticize those who are concerned over the election and saying we don't trust God because of it, is stupid.

My point is, there is nothing wrong with fighting for what is right! Just to sit back and do nothing and say "I'm trusting in God" when you can vote doesn't make sense.

Ca has put up a great fight for prop 8 and is winning!

We need to keep fighting if we are able.

We're talking politics. Not religion. Not values. For example, I have gay neighbors. I believe they have a right to privacy and all the same rights I have. But I wouldn't allow them to sleep together in my home. Nor would I expect my pastor to perform a union or to bless their relationship. We have deep differences...but on a political level all men are free and equal.
I agree, I have changed my attitude toward Obama, he is the new president and I pray for him to have the wisdom to do a great job.

Re: Post Election Thoughts

It would seem that Bernanke and Bush were as complicit as Frank in trying to hood wink the public in regards to the solvency of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. They both made public statements in the month before the bailout of these fine institutios saying that these institutions were solid and not in any trouble. Seems like the liars in that deal were from both sides. Is that colusion?

In fact, it's probably a good rule of thumb to assume that these dudes are lying when they feel the need to reassure people about things like that. It's kind of like when an NFL owner says he has complete trust and faith in the embattled coach. The coach usually gets fired within a week.
