Good point. I see what you are saying.

In fact, Congress could have stopped the bail out, but didn't.

What I am referring to, however, is the way Bush is using 250 Billion Dollars to invade the financial sector.

He's doing it and there isn't any concrete plan as to how the government will back away from this invasion.

I don't like it either. It wasn't the answer in my opinion.

I would like to know who leaders in any government funded venue such as Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae could ever qualify for million dollar salaries/bonuses???

There needs to be some accountability going on here.

I also would like to say while I'm on my soap box that Congress should NOT be allowed to vote their own pay increases!

Calling for control and guidelines is totally different from what the government is doing right now.

Democrats have control of the House, but not by enough to where they can run roughshod over our freedoms WITHOUT Republicans to help them.

Truth is both parties have a share in this mess, but Bush is still the President.

If things, when things are going good, we give the President credit.
For good policy decisions that affect the country for years to come, we give the President credit.

I am not off my rocker to place this mess on the shoulders of Bush and his cronies.

Had his Treasury Secretary been wise, he and his folks would have seen some of this coming.

This cash invasion, performed by the government, is just part of the grand scheme to change our country into what it was into what it is becoming.

The fact that no one knows what to do to stop it is discouraging too.

Maybe if we can just get the public to understand the gravity of what Bush is doing, maybe we can stop things from getting out of hand.

I hope if Sen. Obama becomes President, he makes a concrete plan public as to how to reverse Bush's sinister actions!!!!

Bush is spending that 250 Billion in that way and Congress can do nothing about it!

They passed the bail out bill, gave him authority to "fix" things and he is taking the TRUST our Congress and in essence, our TRUST and sending our country spiraling down into Socialism!

Sec. Paulson gave the banks, "No Choice" in the matter. NO CHOICE!

His Treasury Secretary gave private banks, "NO CHOICE" in the matter.

The direction that our country is headed in is technically referred to as "Socialism", which is a departure from the principles our country was founded on.

If one could make the argument that by becoming the U S S A, we would be a holy nation made right with God, then Socialism could be ok.

Sure, you're willing to let government invade our private financial parts-- but where will it stop?

The day will come when the "Church" won't be sacred-- then what?

I enjoy being able to worship, openly, at the church of my choice, don't you?

An act of tyranny anywhere is a threat to freedom everywhere!

May the policies of Bush come to an end and the violence his policies have wrecked on the freedoms of my countrymen be wrecked on him and his family.

Rich people think their money insulates them from their wrong doing-- but God will find them and reward those who remain unrepentant!
Socialism is a mix of private interest and government control brother, it's not total government control. Only Communism advocates a "control economy", which I agree is not the path that we should take.

Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Italy and many other nations are Socialists and there is still a ONE GOD church that thrives. I don't see your point bro...

so what are we supposed to do bro?

what is being done is within the authority given to Paulson. It also mirrors what is being done in Europe.

MANY people on both sides of the asile think it is the right way to go.

is it a bad direction? you bet but it is PART of the bad direction that congress and GWB agreed to a couple of weeks ago. AND it is a direction that both John McCain and Barak Obama agree to.

If you want to load up the station wagon and drive up to washington, swing by my house and pick me up! I am all for a good protest!

But we wont even get on foxnews dude!

(by the way the only folk who think this is a bad direction are a minority group of real conservitives in congress, so who ever you vote for, for president, make sure to vote for the republican congressman!)

Re: Socialism now!

Just this evening, I had an informal meeting/dinner with a "big time mover and shaker" in the local politics (Prince Georges County Maryland.)

We spoke about what it would take for me to run for the District Council seat here. My Dad is a personal friend of the current council member, but she will vacate her seat because of term limits.

Bottom line, as a Republican, I'd get nowhere fast-- especially in local politics.

Steny Hoyer is the Congressman for my area so I have no chance there either.

I could use my Baltimore address and try to get involved up there, but after speaking with him tonight, I'm thinking politics may not be where the Lord is calling me to serve.

I could be missing something, but it don't look like I'm as interested as I thought I was.
