A coupld of young ladies and their mother went there. They were the prettiest young ladies. Had such beautiful long black hair. I think one of them was named Tori.
I know exaclty who you are talking about. One of the sisters still attends. They were all very pretty. I asked my mother-in-law about you and she said she was your sunday school teacher she thought. My brother-in-law used to chase after those sisters. I have only been at ABC/NLBC for about 6 years total

Re: What was the first church you went to?

I decided to reply to this, just because I knew my answer would be way different then anyone else's on the forum.

The first church that I ever attended was "First Church of Christ Scientist" in Sheboygan Wisconsin.

Lucky for me, my parents gave that up when I was still in grade school, and my Dad didn't get back into it until I was in college, so I missed most of it!

Would not have been my teacher but may have been one of my older boys
(18 and 16) teacher.
I remember those girls, the Hudson's, the Knudson's, the Dietmyers (sp), the Begay's (sp), Sis Hudson's sister and brother-in-law, and the Donahue's but not many others.

I don't know them but my parents, sister & brother-in-law and several other family members attend the same church they do. She was a Roberts, right?

His name was Arthur Lloyd.
The church on 212 Bellevue was sold and I think ii's now a Mormon church. Bro. Colegrove's son Chuck pastored the church up until a couple of years ago and then Bro. Hogg took over. Bro. A.L. Colegrove's grandson Chuck (formerly known as Chuckie Paul) is a youth pastor at Grace Church (I think that's the name) in Texas.

Re: What was the first church you went to?

I was born and raised Catholic and an alter boy the whole bit.But I started to read the Bible and what I read did not fit with my experiance. I would talk to 2 other people and one was Baptist we would discuss what we thought was right. One night I was awakened by a voice at the side of my bed I heard it physicaly,on the right side of me,and the voice said Jesus Christ is calling you.About 2 weeks later I was talking with the Baptist guy and someone overheard us. He asked us if we could come by his house ,and gave us a bible study. We then went to Original Glorious Apostolic where he was teaching a new convert class.I belieed the truth and was baptized in Jesus Name,I had spoken with other tounges at home while praying about 6 months earlier and did not know what happened to me.... I knew the night I was baptized and spoke in tounges coming out of the water Jan 12 1995. Praise Jesus.

That'd be the same one. The Dennis's left us in Toledo to go to Japan as missionaries. Didn't you just LOVE them!!

Yes. They were genuine people.

They were not my Pastors, but they installed the Pastor i served under the longest while in Japan, Pastor and Sister Rufus Parker.

They were genuine folks too. This too, was a long time ago.

First UPC of Kinder, LA

When I was younger it was pastored by Rev. B.L. Clark (until 1984--he was ther almost 50 years) and then Rev. T.L. Smith (from 1984.....still pastoring).

Been UPC my entire life....still UPC!
