I think this definitely calls BO's judgement into question. Obviously, I don't believe that BO supports bombing federal buildings and killing innocent people, but he should have better judgement than to be as close as he was to Bill Ayers. A President's decisions on who he surrounds himself with is critically important. GWB has a failed presidency because of who he surrouned himself with. This election wouldn't be about the failed policies of the last 8 years had GWB had better judgement about who he surrounded himself with. I believe that GWB could have been a very effective President had he been surrounded by different people.
All in all, I'm not sure this will be enough for McCain. If I was supporting Obama, it would definitely make me take a second look at this judgement, however.
Good post. I agree. It may not be enough for McCain unless they go further and show his other associations.

True, but the mainstream media is certainly not inclined to dig deep on this. But talk radio, blogs, and alternate media may be making an implact

Yes, I'm referring to that event. I think there are some who will spin it as just being a retirement party for her, where she would throw her support behind Obama. But the event was one of transition from her to Obama, in effect the launch of his political career. It was as much about the launch of Obama's senatorial career as it was about the retirement of the outgoing senator. Obama had been groomed by many in Chicago political circles as the "up and comer". His political connections during this grooming process included Bill Ayers and his wife among others. Obama was part of that inner circle and knew full well who Bill Ayers was and what he'd done. It wasn't just "a party held in Bill Ayer's home" as some would like to dismissively, or perhaps naively refer to it.
There are some who'd like to make it seem as if Obama and Ayers were like two ships passing in the night, and had just a passing knowledge of each other...but that would ignore the fact that they worked together on various non-profit political/social initiatives in Chicago and knew each other well. Of course the media, and Obama supporters realize that the Ayers connection could be toxic, and are trying to minimize it... just as they'd like us to believe that whenever Jeremiah made his America-bashing sermons during the 20 years Obama knew him, Obama was conveniently not at church that Sunday.
There's more to this than meets the eye, and from what I've seen, most of the media as a whole is doing it's best to whitewash and minimize the depth of the connection. But it's not just his Ayers connection; its also the hard-left, sometimes anti-American, sometimes anti-Israel people he associated with during his Chicago years. If the media would dig into this with the gusto the dug into Bush's Texas National Guard years, we might be surprised at what comes to the surface. Then again, they might not like what they see if they were to dig into it, which might explain why they haven't really been digging too hard.

Anyway, dozens of articles have done solid research into Obama's left wing connections (doing the mainstream media's work for them). But I think there is a concerted effort to try to kill this story, or maybe let it die a quiet death.
TR, I was just asking for clarification because in reading your original post, I though that there may have been a sperate fundraiser dinner that Obama had independently chosen to have at Ayer's house while running for maybe even President. Iwas aware of the dinner coordinated by the incumbent and others at the end of her career but not of one by Obama...I just wanted to be sure I was not mistaken.
