Their founder was baptized in Jesus Name. In an old COGIC doctrine book, I read where the organization used to allow its ministers to baptize in Jesus Name. I read it while stationed in NC, but it was a very old book.

Well, if that's the case about Mason (which I actually doubt) then they' ve actually hardened their position since then, since now they explicity state that baptism should be in titles F,S.HG. Apparently there are COGIC pastors who now see the truth of Jesus name baptism, (or some who arent sure what the truth is, and want to cover their bases), and instead of straight up baptising into the Name, they create a hybrid formula such as
"I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, we do all things in Jesus name" . Personally, this strikes me as being too much of a compromise.. that is, an attempt to use the Name, while not offending the denomination's rule requiring titles, even though they disagree with the denomination's position.

I agree. If he was baptized in Jesus name, why didnt he also have his denomination baptize into the Name ? Doesnt make sense to me.
