I take it you haven't heard songs like "Where Could I Go But To The Lord" or "He Looked Beyond My Fault And Saw My Need." You'll often find that Southern Gospel music is borne out of personal experience, though sometimes you'll get the standard Southern cultural belief (or it seems like a belief) that everyone's mother is going to be in Heaven.
