Rape and murder are crimes against a sovereign citizen of our nation committed by a person with malice and forethought.
With abortion we're talking pregnancy. There isn't a relationship like pregnancy found anywhere in nature. In pregnancy two lives are intertwined in such a way that makes it entirely unique. At some point we have to establish who's rights trump the other's. In this case I believe the best bet is to establish that the mother's right over her body and the seed in her womb supercedes any assumed rights of her unborn. She has the right to keep it....and tragically she has the right not to. It is outside the scope of a just government to step in and seize a pregnant woman's body and force her to give birth against her will. It is outside the scope of a just government to deny the rights of a woman over her own body. For this reason, legal abortion is a necessary evil in a just society.
The best way to combat this is through propogation of the Gospel, prayer, and education. No law will adequately address this issue.
Scripture paints a completely different picture but you refused to deal with it in the past.

That's not true Ferd. Even those who believe in restricting abortion to instances when life or health of the mother are in danger believe in "abortion rights". The question isn't abortion rights. It's a disingenuous question designed to vilify.
And you fall for it all the time.
Politically speaking the only party that is 100% Pro-Life is the Constitution Party. The Republicans and the Democrats aren't going to do a thing about abortion. A vote for either on this issue is a wasted vote.
It's not as important to me because I don't think anything will actually get done to change it.
Is it really possible that abortion will be outlawed tomorrow, next month, next year?
If it was possible, why hasn't it happened yet?
Even if abortion was outlawed THERE WOULD HAVE TO BE A PROVISION that PROTECTS the life of the mother or else I would not support it.
In my opinion, overturning Roe v. Wade is a carrot the Republicans dangle in front of the gullible to get their votes. I do not believe it will ever be overturned.

well you are certainly right in so far as when Barak Obama becomes president, 2 liberals will go off the court and we will get two new and younger liberals so the issue will be killed.

I may be wrong but, from what I understand, Barack Obama has promised to reverse the ban on partial birth abortion as soon as he is in office.
He did vote against the ban because it didn't contain a "health exception", even though medical experts stated that partial birth abortions are never needed for the sake of the mother's health.
As far as I know, he hasn't reversed his views.

My question about the "living soul" was just to get a thought going. 1399 you had some good points, but I think the logical conclusion to your line of thinking would have an infant not being a soul until they come to an age of accountability or an infant going to hell if it died for being a sinner.
