EXACTLY!!!!
It could be a situation where a couple in the church had an affair and before the rumor mill gets done with it the pastor is condoning wife swapping.
I have been around Pentecost long enough to have seen how this rumor mill works.
Usualy good honest people are involved but each time it is told it gets changed just a little or misunderstood a little and before you know it a whole new reality exists.
Do I believe fornication and adultery happens in Pentecostal churches? Absolutely but not often and I don't think wife swapping is happening in a UPC church and being done openly.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: Swinging Church!
In the late sixties the wife and I were invited to one of these parties in the western district, we refused.
Because of this refusal my wife and I along with my brother and his wife were called into the pastors office before church. We ( my brother and I ) were told never to come back again but our wives were welcome.
The pastor was a very well known man in the whole UPC.

How do you know it was "one of these parties"?
I am sorry but this all sounds like a bunch of hooey from the rumor mill designed to destroy ministers who people dont like.
I absolutely do not believe there are UPC preachers out there promoting "swinging" wife swapping parties.
They would be run out of the UPC in a flash.

Yes, but I wonder if that is what opened the door to the swapping. Did it begin with "too much" information?

Re: Swinging Church!
CC1 - in Esther's incident the pastor is not aware that it's going on.

Good Lord you are so naive.
There was a upc preacher who was taken before his district board for sexual activity. The local district refused to take his license. Members of the church went to the general conference. Remember the motor home at general conference at the Salt Palace with all the sings on it.
The signs were designed to get the attention of the general board which had previously refused to hear the complaint of a man whose pastor was a sex addict. This person finally saw the Bord and gave them the notarized letters from 11 women and a tape of this preachers conversation with women in his church that was recorded in the church.
The general board refused to take this mans license. The man left general conference with his license in his pocket.
