According to the blog: "Dell can sell what we've branded 'Windows Vista Bonus' which allows us to preinstall XP Professional with a Vista license (on select system categories). This lets customer's upgrade to the Vista platform when they're ready. And yes, Dell will support both OSs."

Actually you don't go anywhere because you don't have any money left!

I think for working with audio or video the Mac can't be beat but boy do you pay a premium.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

If I was gonna pay 2 grand I can find a laptop that flies and can handle the load like a Mac

Macs are using Intel CPUs now, other than the OS what is the difference?

That's like going into your Rolls Royce dealer and saying it has a motor and 4 tires, it takes gasoline, what's the difference between this and a AMC Gremlin?

You will never understand it..unless you take the plunge, then and only then will you get "it"...

From my experience, like they say, "It just works." I do a lot of video and art work and I am extremely satisfied. No more blue screen of death or lock ups like my PC. No more peripheral problems or driver conflicts. It is extremely light and connects to any network flawlessly. Reliability and stability. At least that is my experience.

Actually, I paid for my MacBook Pro what I would have paid for a top of the line Dell, like my last Inspiron 9400. I usually buy a laptop "loaded" with all I can get for power and resale value. It has been a good combination for me trading up every couple of years. I may not need to do so with this one. I could get 3 yrs out of it, maybe. The helpless "geek" in me probable won't let me keep it that long though!

My youngest son, just bought a "black Mac" on Ebay for $1000 that was a demo. Deals can be found.

Are you serious? The engine in a rolls royce is not anything like the engine in a gremlin. Nor is anything else

Hardware wise tell me the difference between a Mac and a high end PC near the same price?? It's not CPU anymore. Can't be ram since Intels use the same. Hard drives? What do they use? Video card? Tell me what Macs use and see if PCs don't have it.

As I said the main difference has to be OS

you know...funny thing...I don't have BSD problems OR driver conflicts. In fact driver conflicts basically died in win 98

My XP box and my Vista box connect to any network very easily

As I said the only real difference then is the OS...as far as computing power though they are equal
