Re: ****help!!!! How Do You Clean A Baby Bumper?
Policy Statement
Health Canada does not recommend the use of bumper pads in cribs because they pose an entanglement, entrapment, strangulation, and suffocation hazard to infants.
Background
Between 1987 and 2001, 23 incidents involving bumper pads were reported to Health Canada, including one strangulation death, one suffocation death, and three near-suffocation occurrences.
The presence of bumper pads in a crib may also be a contributing factor for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). These products may reduce the flow of oxygen rich air to the infant in the crib. Furthermore, proposed theories indicate that the rebreathing of carbon dioxide plays a role in the occurrence of SIDS.1
The Canadian Paediatric Society, the Canadian Institute of Child Health, and the Canadian Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths have also issued statements advising against the use of bumper pads.

I wouldn't want dry cleaning chemicals on something for a baby. Most dry cleaners do launder though just find out what detergent they use and then determine if that is okay for your baby. It would be cheaper and give you more presence of mind to do it yourself with a detergent you would feel safe with. I worked at a cleaners. The owner was the best in the business he would bend over backwards for the rudest customers. Having said that you still can't control what workers do all the time. I would definitely find a way to do it myself.

Sister, the Kenmore brand name is just Sears in house label for the appliances they sell. They have other manufacturers build the appliances for them. Whirlpool is one of those manufacturers and I am pretty sure Maytag is another one. Unfortunately, the quality of appliances in general has gone down quite a bit over the last several years. I remember when you bought a fridge you could pretty much expect a good 10-15 years before you would worry about buying another one. These days it's not uncommon to have to replace a fridge after 5-10 years. I still think Whirlpool makes a good product, just not as good as it used to be.

Re: ****help!!!! How Do You Clean A Baby Bumper?
Worked for Sears service for years. Have always had Kenmore appliances. But the times they be a changin.
Not sure who to blame but the quality has changed.....
Until late 80's "all" Sears appliances were Whirlpool. Now several manufacturers are used.
Also for those shopping for Freezers, Refrigerators or room Air Conditioners the 5 yr warranty on the compressor is GONE. Now it's only a year!!!

Some of these people had had repairmen out to their homes several times, many of which were to fix problems that had been fixed and broke again. It seems there are some basic design flaws with these front load washers. They certainly don't perform like the front load washers you find at laundromats. Anyway, I am glad you haven't had any problems. However, you might want to think about taking out the extended warranty on that washer.

Have it.. got the 3 yr extended. Havent had to use the regular warranty yet even. Only thing they have been out for is the 4 month maintenances and thats it...
