Will this person need to have a upc or oneness background like so many others have been? Just curious to know.

To the forum - do you have any suggestions for them?

No they need balance. I am thinking WWOD or bro Devito.

If they're looking for someone to balance out their current beliefs then I'd say Brother Epley, but he already said he ain't workin for no $500 a week.

yes Epley it is... but I recommend he go by Bro (danny) Devito because of his sorted past of condeming ChristChurch types.

You believe obeying Acts2:38 is truth with speaking in tongues but it doesn't matter.
I am not trying to offend as much as I like to fuss but this has made my heart hurt.

I understand your love for the scripture. In particular, a love for someone being baptized in Jesus name and them receiving the Holy Ghost. Nevertheless, not everybody fits into mole that many oneness churches have made. My wife is from Spain (Europe) and she has received the Holy Ghost and been baptized in Jesus name. However, after going to a conservative oneness church for quite while she was not convicted of the standards, and she was exasperated how the people treated her because she didn't dress like them.

It seems to me that US people are a lot more likely to accept such standards because they have seen people do them all of their lives. However, people from other cultures do not accept them because they are not conditioned to them.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Re: Christ Church Pastor Change

You see

It is not an issue about the doctrine of the oneness of God or the application of Acts 2:38. It is a social issue.

I've never been to Spain, but below is how I have always pictured Spaniard women dressing. Other than being sleevless, I don't see how anyone could have a problem with it.

That is a big mistake. Those dresses are only worn when they have special festivals -- only at certain times of the year (and those festivals take place in the south of Spain). My wife is from Madrid. They don't get into that type of stuff in Madrid.

CC/PM, I'll be in Nashville in August I just may attend
your church out of curiousity to hear your choir and check
out the way your congregation worships and such.
