Re: Salvation for the deaf and mute?: Say it ain't
HO, I agree it's sort of wierd.
I remember one article had a pic that showed diodes attached to a person's head.
For what it's worth, the study was mostly positive for those who speak in tongues.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

I'm interested in knowing more, but I'm too tired at the moment to sort things out.
I just can't imagine being in the spirit with wires attached to my head and knowing that people are watching and waiting for 'the blessed event' to come out of my mouth.....LOL!
Goodnight.

If a God was a woman named Moolah or at the time of baptism a space landed and aliens had the power to take speech away and IF IF IF IF IF????
I saw and heard a deaf mute recieve the Holy Ghost and yes she spoke on tongues.

Okay ... and if they don't have a tongue ....?
These types of humans do exist, Steve ... your scenario is unbiblical and/or unrealistic.
Keep in mind they are competent and able to make the decision to follow Christ ... but do not have the ability to verbalize.
Your paradigm assumes that all can verbalize to effectuate salvation ....
whether it be the baptizer of whom must get it right to bring about a partial spiritual birth or the tongues or hell doctrine as it relates to being regenerated by God's Spirit ...
if this is so we have to assume God doesn't have all of His bases covered when it comes to the plan of salvation

Dan you are intelligent so why such goofy questions???????????????
First God is God and He can make a stone praise Him or a donkey talk. Your assumptions are childish.
All your "humerous" absurdities will not change the message or the method.
In Balaam's day it was a miracle to get an A to speak now it is a miracle to get one to keep quiet. NOT implying that is you.

We must assume God's plan of salvation is not for all.
Daniel I know most people are really missing your point(s). I believe it is possible that a deaf/mute can be baptized in Jesus name, filled with the Holy Ghost and (speak in an unknown tongue) without speaking out loud. That is for their salvation not for our edification anyway. Even if the person that baptizes them is a deaf/mute as well.
God sees and hears both's hearts.
