This is probably it.
AG, did you know that if you sit for too long at a time, (this could be as little as an hour or two for some people) that excess water in your body will pool in your feet? Believe it or not, this is what the cardiologist told me. He said that if I was going to sit for more than an hour at a time at my desk, that I should purchase one of the inexpensive pedal exercisers to use while I'm sitting. He said that will stop the swelling in the feet. You'd be amazed. I found one about 6 months ago for under $25 shipping included.

Re: For any nurse types... question
Hey sweetie, I had/have the same problem.
Swelling just happened over night, in my feet as you discribe, no warning. Even the slightest elevation in blood pressure, it goes up and down, sometimes never caught by doc. Has to do with circulation. The heart and the Kidneys. And our age! I know you say that you have eliminated sodium, but there are other salts, already in processed foods, and drinks. It's just your body is not eliminating the salt.
My doctor put me on a duritic, stronger that over the counter, and it worked, also a low dose blood pressure pill.
Do you have dizzy spells? Pressure in your chest? The feeling that you can't catch your breath?
Check pressure randomly, even if you feel good.
When I started walking is when the problems started....bummer.
With all that said...There is nothing to hard for our God to do! He knows! I believe for you to get answers and direction and healing for your body! In Jesus Name!

Thank you! I just got back from the Dr... she did some blood tests... also checked my blood pressure... well actually she has been having me check it since 3 pm yesterday... at random times but at least once an hour... the highest it has been is 128/78. We are waiting... No dizzy spells or headache or pressure or any of that... I am actually very healthy other than the fact I have a little weight I would love to get rid of! She is thinking mine is actually what you mentioned last... but its weird because I have been working out very hard for the last 3 months and all the sudden poof... But she thinks I am overdoing it on the treadmill and wants me to back down .... So I am gonna try that.. she said the walking so much and then having days where I cant at all due to my back may actually be putting my body into shock... So we are going to the other exercises for the rest of the weekend and then we will see what Monday shows... she put a stat on the tests so I might know before end of day if everything else is still normal. ROFL ME NORMAL?!?!?!? ROFL!!!!!

Re: For any nurse types... question
Ok now I am scared and whining! The blood work came back perfect. My feet had come down some... now they are huge again... thing is it hurts and I am honestly just scared because I know it seems like a novel thing to most but I have so much going on already with my back that I do not need this.. and as long as they are like this I cannot do PT other than a couple of mild exercises.
On top of everything else my back is killing me today... I know God can do something as simple as take the swelling down but right now I just dont have the faith. Sorry for the whining but would appreciate the prayers

Re: For any nurse types... question
AG.
If it "hurts" it makes me think it is gout. Did your MD test your uric acid level?
Here is a thought go online, google gout diet and eliminate those foods that have purines in them. I can't remember ALL of them, but I DO remember wine, aged meats and cheeses but other than that off hand (MY old timers kickin' in!) I can't think of the rest. Anyway, eliminate those foods and see if that helps.
My mom and my hubby's cousin have gout. When it kicks up they have to REALLY watch what they eat in addition to taking their acute phase meds.

Re: For any nurse types... question
I was wondering how you were doing today, I have been swamped today, Fridays are always crazy days around here, getting ready for the weekend.
I have to finish up the weekly Bible reading schedules for the Sunday handouts, review the weeks assignments, do the ordering for next week, and since we have been in revival all week, things have been crazier than usual.
Oh, and my brother just came in and told me that teachers day is next Tues. and he wants me to put together cards with gift cards for all the teachers at the high school across the street. AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! We always do something for them but this year it just snuck up on us.
So needless to say, I'm pulling my hair out, but I just jumped on here for a minute to check in.
I'm sorry it hasn't gotten any better!! I'll keep praying for you girl!

Well, it's always good to find out the source of a problem. Hopefully, you'll get the all under control soon!
I've got one of those purse things too!
