I heard about a preacher who took his infant son to church soon after birth and introduced him as the next pastor of the church.

Huntley has said a lot of stupid things. So have you and I. I am not defending him just stating facts.

Brother Huntley is a great preacher, but I agree, he does make some off
the cuff statements sometimes that are not very wise.

This is the same service where my 16 year old nephew along with 200 PK's got called to the platform and was prayed over by his Father. The other PK's were prayed over as well by their Fathers...it was POWERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! His sister watched it on the simulcast in Canada and wept over her family...as did I.

, I sometimes wonder at the way some press and pressure their kids to follow into the ministry. If my son gets called to preach that's great, but the Lord will do the calling, not me! If my daughter's feel called to the mission field it will be the Spirit leading not Mom and Dad pushing. My children are great children because they love the Lord and have respected their parents and their upbringing. But they will rise or fall on their own effort not by what I do or don't not do.

his point was not to try to push your kids the other way just because YOU know of the hardships

I hope those kids don't feel guilty in the future if God does not call them into full time ministry. I hope they don't feel like they have disappointed their parents. I would be very proud if my kids end up in full time ministry, but I will be just as proud of them if they are in the business world if they are living for God and fulfilling His purpose in their lives.

I think God calls some to be Kings (business world) and some to be Priests (full time ministry). We could not survive as a church without either one.
