It still to this day amazes me.

Jimmy Jones got folks to leave the USA, move to the jungles of Central America, give him their money and drink that souped up kool aid and I couldn't get folks to come to prayer meeting.

Amazing.

There is a man in Texas who claims to be Jesus Christ. He has followers in over 35 countries. He has 666 tattooed on his arm and wears a vest with that number on it.

His doctrine is that nobody can sin, because Jesus died for those sins already. People buy into this nonsense, but that has me puzzled. It's almost like there is no need for a conscience.

It's truly amazing what the masses will believe, but call us freaks and what not for what we believe.

While Jim Jones, to my knowledge, never held a license with the UPC he was most definitely associated with Oneness Pentecostalism. I can't say with any certainty that Bro. Urshan made a journey there but I know that Jim Jones did for a fact attend Calvary Christian School in Indianapolis. He even has a class picture in one of the yearbooks.

It's a sad situation but not an uncommon one. I know MANY people who walk away from truth and end up in a spiritual mess. His was just a mess severe enough to cost the lives of far too many people.
