Maybe somewhere. Maybe even as we type.

Last night as I was pulling down some of those old books, I tumbed through one of bro. Urshan's books and came across that note. I thought that was quite significant. I forget which one I was looking at or even what page at the moment. But, I remember reading the same thing in other places as well.

Sam, Sam, Sam...
Those old semantics have been around a long time.
There is such a thing as being FILLED with the Holy Ghost. If there is such a thing as being filled, by deduction, it follows that it is possible to be, as the old timers used to say, "a pint low."

Agreed,
terms like "being filled" are descriptive of being surrendered to the Holy Spirit.
I don't think we actually get more of Him, nor do I think He actually leaks out, but those are terms expressing our yielding to Him.

Do we have as much Holy Ghost? I think the answer is no. We could have but we just don't commit the way they did. My wife would often go stay with the Womble's and she said they went to someone's home almost every day and had a prayer meeting. If someone was sick they would all gather in that person's home to pray. Don't see that now.

When I was growing up many years ago, that was almost everyday that there was not church. Even at church there would be some of the greatest, rafter ringing, heaven shaking, joybell ringing prayer meetings that are seldom heard today.
God has not changed, people have, being more material than ever. Jesus said that you cannot love God and Mammon at the same time. You will either love one and hate the other or vice-versa. There more we are filled with the love of Mammon, the less of the love of those heavenly things will prevail with us.

I have never read of any revival that was not born on someones knees. It was usually very long hours of weeping and crying out to God. Nowadays we spend 30 minutes in prayer and feel like we should be commended. I can remember my dad fasting 40 days and nights several times. He would pray hours at a time. It is no wonder as a youth I saw so many mighty miracles, and Oh the times that you thought the heavens themselves had rent and God had come down in the services. I truly miss those days, and long for their return.

No blame on the three steps. I preach them as being obligatory to all hearers who wish to be obedient to God's Word.
Neither have I ever heard of a heaven born revival or a move of God that did not have its genisis in prevaling prayer. I've been a part of it both in the labor of prayer and also of a great deal of fasting...even at great length. It is the only way that heaven will rent, God come down revealing and working in the midst of those who wait for and seek him.
I too miss those days because these unworthy eyes have been greatly blessed to see the greatest glory than any have witnessed in the 20th century. I could speak all night of those wonderous, heavenly things that are almost too sacred to speak of but for a brokeness.

Not to belabor the point we are vessels, bottles and containers of what is pourned in upon us. You may have more Holy Ghost than I, judging from your very sweet, gentlemanly attitude, but there have been times in my life that I had more than I have at this very moment...even to the point that I could not physically stand any more. I was indeed filled. I may be a pint low here tonight. But, all of that ebbs and flows as you put it, according to our dedication. So, I suppose in that regard, you are right AGAIN.
Gotta luv ya, Sam

There was a scripture that always bothered me. Here it is....
( Acts 4:30) By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
( Acts 4:31) And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
These were people that already had the Holy Ghost so why does it say they were filled with the Holy Ghost?
Then I read something about this scripture.....
( Eph 5:18) And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
In the Greek it means to continue to be filled! So we don't just get filled one time but you continue to be filled over and over.

I have a question for you and anyone else that has a good answer. If the Lord shows or tells you that he is going to do something do you still pray for it to happen or do you just wait?
