I have not even talked about the tip of the iceberg of my experiences and don't intend to expose the whole iceberg. God knows and will judge. UPCI has to be better in other parts of the country. I hope so anyway. I can only tell of what I have witnessed. A witness's testimony is not an opinion. It is truth.

I agree BP, logic is a good thing.

The children of darkness are wiser than the children of light.

The children of light need to step it up logically.

Putting old UPCI traditions and the old manual above the God are illogical.

There is much emotion For the old fore fathers and UPCI Heritage.

Jesus is leading his children, but old Holiness Sheppard's tell the sheep not follow the voice of God, but rather the voice of Traditions.

Today the sheep are getting wise and logical following God.

Walk by faith Bro. Price.....not by the shouting voice of an old traditionalist.

The UPC isn't the only org on the planet. Why don't you pick on another one for a while?

The RCC
The AoG
The CoG
COGIC
The UMC
The Episcopalian Church

I bet you they have just as much scandal, just as much corruption, per capita. They might even have more.

This little show is gettin' a little old.

Don't like the UPC? Why are you in it?

Already left? Well, good for you. Now, get over it.

Can't? Should have thought about that before you left.

Want back in? Speaking ill is not going to help.

How about a little unity instead of gossip?

How about a little uplifting instead of casting down?

How about a little effort to reconcile rather than destroying?

Now, back to my hole...
I agree, Bro. Prince, that it surely looks that way sometimes. Thankfully there are those random threads that rise above the slashing bashing mentality that keep me interested these days.

I think we have some of the greatest posters in the world on AFF. I also think we have a few who are agendized and bitter. It may not be right but it is a reality that sometimes they get the attention.

Obviously, neither position is accurately summed up in the catch-phrases. "One steppers" believe that a person is saved when they repent of their sins and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. This was the majority view of the UPC at the time of the merger as evidenced by the writings of A.D. Urshan, S.G. Norris (founder of ABI Bible College), John Dearing, C.H. Yadon and a host of others.

The "three steppers" believed that a person is not saved until they completed all three "steps" of Acts 2:38. And even then, your salvation was doubtful if you failed to be convicted of your short sleeves and were not under sumission to a pastor that preached the same.

The most obvious result of the divide is that the "one steppers" were open to the idea that other Christians might be saved. Again, as evidenced by the writings of the aforementioned. The "three steppers" failed to be so generous and thrust up an ever widening array of barriers around their churches to keep "their people clean." As a particular "three stepper" here on AFF pointed out recently, even the waxed tips had to be removed from your shoe laces if you wanted to be "right."

The "one stepper" view has no variables. It places complete and unwavering trust in the work that Jesus Christ has already done for us. It professes that Jesus only is the source of salvation and doesn't even waste any time with your shirt sleeves and shoe laces.

there are very few if any true three steppers. Most of the are anywhere from 10 to 20 steppers.

I was in a "three stepper" church that taught men had to wear cuffs on their pants.

The rule making has become ridiculous.

This thread explains some things. lol

Hmm. Should I go for cryptic today?

I just hope I can remain as detached from all the arguments that don't really matter as I am right now. Cuz, they just really don't matter.
