I used to listen to beatle music, and there was a line in one of their songs, that said everybody has something to hide except me and my monkey,I never did figure out the meaning of that line.

Re: Mooney Guns for "Secret" Meeting in Detroit?

Wow...this thread went in a totally different direction!! What's up with the anonymous stuff? I'm accountable for everything that I type, whether you know who I am or not. And what's up with reporting everything? I just think that's silly. Grow up and move on...it's a public forum.

I guess I just got tough skin from being a PK.

On another note, I didn't listen to PM's message...heard enough in Bible College. He is rooted and grounded in holiness, nothing will change that.

Is it true that he was going to join the WPF and then when he got voted in as AGS, he suddenly had a change of heart??

Wow! Where'd you hear that from?? I know French and Marler left (I think) right at that time. Didn't hear that one though.

Thing is the rules that AFF are set up on are arbitrary & no longer followed!
Ron you are missing logic by a country mile. If someone is posting within the guidelines of the forum it doesn't matter if they are one of the posters who chooses to be anonymous or one who reveals their identity.

It seems you believe that anybody who is going to post an opinon or anything controverseal must reveal their identity? Makes no sense.

It is for the very reason that there are reprecussions to one being honest with their opinons and beliefs on forums like AFF that anonymnity is a must for many folks.

I first hand know posters who have had their ministries affected and jeapordized by posts on AFF being used against them.

Surely there can be at least one place where Pentecostals can speak freely without fear of retribution? I guess not if you had your way.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I was raised in an Apostolic home and my father founded 3 churches and was highly respected in his organization. So, I have an Apostolic pedigree and am certainly qualified to speak on behalf of many good men who have moved past the teachings of the current UPCI.

The problem with your statement..."if you don't like the UPC, Acts 2:38, Holiness Lifestyle, just leave." is perhaps one of the most arrogant things I have read. The truth is the UPCI has been highjacked and ram-shacked by men who have been deceptive and ego centric agenda minded. Truthfully, I remember a time when ministers were allowed to have different and opposing views. Diversity is a wonderful thing. One should not be "ejected" and "marginalized" from a movement just because they seek biblical understanding as to "why" certain doctrines are being taught as salvific.

Now, I have no problem with anyone wanting a particular lifestyle. However, the moment we challenge the dress & hair code biblically, it falls quite short and cannot be substantiated. Truthfully, biblical scholars cannot even agree if 1 Corinthians 11 is a question or an answer to which we are not privy into the minds of the Corinthian elders seeking clarification. One cannot build doctrinal foundation on non-didactic texts. Furthermore, to suggest that those who do not "follow" are somehow eternally lost is damnable at best.

We do not serve Christ under the law, we are not living under the Old Covenant. Herein lies the problem with the UPCI's currently leadership; they assume they are right and everyone else is wrong. Truth is a person; His name is Jesus.

Well, I have my "anonymous" sources!

No, seriously, I heard that from a pretty reliable source, but can't truly verify it, so I don't know if it's truth or not. I don't know that Marler left to go to the WPF, but French did leave...He's with Wilson/Young now. Marler isn't teaching at IBC anymore I don't believe, but I don't think it was because of this mess.

Bro. Wright,

There's no need to bring up the past - please leave it there.
