Re: LADIES please take my Holiness Test Thanks
Also, write me a summery of why you let go of any of these
Dress codes.Did you feel any sense of guilt, shame, conviction
when you let down on the standard?
( ) No Hair cuts nope no hair cuts.I am going for the lady Godiva look.It works for m.
( ) No Pants Does this include pajamas or work out clothes?
( ) No makeup nope just natural beauty that includes facials and trips to the brow salon and an expensive line of skin care products. How natural is natural in this case? Does lip gloss qualify as natural?
( ) No Ornamental Jewelry How ornamental.I don't do rings or pins. How about hair stuff?
I have seen some hair stuff that we know is hair jewelry.Just how blingy is blingy when it come to hair stuff or cute shoes?
( ) I wear my hair up _ Every other Saturday I go to the salon for a shampoo and conditioning treatment and wear it down the rest of the day.I get alot of attention
and face it...I like it.Beauty is not a sin.
( ) I wear my sleeves below the elbow yes and especially in winter. In doors however I don't see the need.I don't however wear extremely short sleeves.
( )I wear hosery in public unless I am wearing boots and you cannot see the hose or sandals and a pedicure. However in church with my nice suit clothes the hose are the
right choice.
( ) Skirts go below the knees uh...yeah.I am keeping my knees private.
( ) No Slits .....I sew most of mine up unless they are one to two inches and the skirt is long.
( )No finger nail paint Does a salon manicure count? Is clear okay or french? Most ultra cons don't even buff.So splain yourself Mark Y?????????????????????

You made perfect sense, and I totally agree. I don't necessarily agree with everything that my pastor teaches, but I do feel like God has placed me under his ministry for this season of my life, and as such, I believe that I should be submitted. I would never sit under a pastor who abused his authority, or did not teach from a heart of love.
I know this is volatile issue, and I wish people could talk about this stuff without getting confrontational, or broad-brushing the issue. I think I have said this before, but I really appreciate your spirit.

I was never in bondage to standards. But I was (personally) in bondage to fear. Fear permeated my entire spiritual walk. Fear of displeasing God, fear of being carnal, or worldly, fear that doing the tiniest little thing wrong would send me to hell, or at the very least cause God to "chasten me" (i.e. send great suffering into my life to send me a lesson).
So I do feel like I have been liberated. Because by living in constant fear of hell, my life pretty much already was.

I DO understand this, Mich! I lived in a lot of fear too - of not ever being good enough for God. But that was my own misunderstanding of the Word, I think.
