The problem with the above, is that those scriptures are NOT saying to avoid those that disagree with your doctrine. Think about it, what "truth" was he speaking of? Was he speaking of UPC doctrine that had not been written yet? Was he speaking about men wearing pants, and shouldn't because that would be worldly you know, Paul did NOT wear pants!
It seems to me, that those that do the avoiding, are the ones causing division. They are dividing themselves from people that love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength. People that often have more of the fruit of the HS than themselves. People that have more of the important things to God, things beyond a dress code or a church membership.
Funny thing is for me, is that I am much more challenged to live the truths of scripture in the church I attend now than I was EVER challenged in my previous church. Before I was mostly challenged to be "one" with a doctrine, now I am challenged to be one with Jesus.
