But I guess I would have to say hurt people, hurt people. You must be one that was hurt by an Apostolic church, so you seek some kind of retribution by making sure you make it public every negative thing that happens in an Apostolic church. While I don't think that things need to be "swept under the rug" or be kept secret, I do think that things like this have a tendency to make people who need salvation shy away from it. Bro. Black and his transgressions and sin are not a representation of the Apostolic church or TPC, but his actions could turn people away from God, citing hypocrisy in the church. THAT is why I think all of this needs to stop. We are not the only ones reading these forums. How do you know that what you have written on here hasn't caused a lost sheep to falter and turn away? Think on that.

You are grossly mistaken.

God did not deal with this situation. Someone with access to his computer did. It would have never come to light otherwise and he would have continued in gross immorality for another 15 years, all while preaching about the evils of Charismatics.
So are you saying that you have the authority to say if Terry Black has repented, his sins are not under the blood? No one is saying Bro. Black will not come before the church and ask for forgiveness and admit that he did wrong. It has only been a week since he stepped down. I, as a member, hope that he does, to help the healing process. All those other things you are putting on here are hearsay. How do YOU think you know about them anyway? He has not publicly confessed, to my knowledge, so anything people are hearing, unless you are close to the original source that found the evidence, you wouldn't know. And if you are that close to the person, that person is Godly enough to not want you airing that information on a public forum. If "that person" wanted the world to know all the details, "that person" would have told everyone when the evidence was initially found. This issue was not taken lightly. The people that confronted Bro. Black did so prayerfully and in a wise way. If you knew these people, which you obviously don't know firsthand, they were letting God handle it. God knows all. He knew when this was going to come to light and orchestrated it being found and being dealt with. So saying that God didn't deal with this situation shows just how much you know about the Bible obviously. God would not have let him continue, He had His hand in this.

?? What do you mean that it is commonplace? Or that it's more prevalent than in other denominations?

I doubt it.

So now you are saying that Bro. Black's actions represent the whole Apostolic movement?

Hate to disappoint you but I am not one "hurt" by an Apostolic Church. I know people who have been but luckily I was not one. The UPC churches I attended were mainstream ones and not ultra conservative / controlling ones. The only hurt I had was how we were treated when we left the UPC but it was not something we got bitter about. It just gave us a better understanding of what we had been raised in all of our lives. How closed religious sects maintain their distinctives by ostracizing and demonizing those who leave.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Amen!!! I'm an Apostolic Pentecostal since 1982, and it's so TRUE-if you leave some of these Apostolic churches and find you one that's more conducive for your spiritual growth apart from TYRANNICAL leadership; they will pound you silly; assasinate/slander your character-etc. I've gone through and survived with the help of the Lord.

God did not deal with this situation. Someone with access to details previously hidden did. It would have never come to light otherwise and he would have continued in gross immorality for another 15 years, all while preaching about the evils of Charismatics.
Maybe God orchestrated that someone with access to details?

It's good that there are other churches you can go to. None here but the little cluster of the same people that ruled for 3 decades or more.

Eh...lol...the man did not say the doctrine of long hair on women. You know that. He was speaking of that peculiar doctrine to LS and the stuff about angels protecting women with uncut hair and their families etc etc...

That doctrine negates the blood.

I choose the protection of the shed Blood of Christ to cover me and my family.
