I believe they think they are "offering" a solution.

I hope you understand that I get no joy from this, I think it is a shame, but I have seen too much conflict, for too long, and I am tired of it. It just seems like it is time to move on, stop fighting each other and get on with the work of the Lord.

Well, that's going to happen, no way to stop it. Many who are leaving are very well respected men, and even though they may not actively recruit, the magnitude of their influence will sway some.
But, again, if a man/woman is convinced of what they believe, they can still maintain a friendship with someone who may be leaving, even though they won't leave with them.

Renda, the men who will be leaving, if they haven't already, are visionaries in the strongest sense of the word.
Yes, there are good men left, but those departing have made an impact that will be hard to follow.
I see nothing good coming of this, but again it's just my opinion...no biggie...

Barb - chill.
What floored me was you answered 'none' to this question - -

See, this is the thing that annoys me the most. I really dis-approve of this being justified under a name that is not so.

Barb, I know that you and I both grew up in the "heyday" of the UPC in the Michigan District, and the UPC that we see today is very different than it was then. Sometimes it's hard to let go of that, and we see it as a bad thing, but in reality, every living organism is in a constant state of flux...........
