Glad you asked Sis.

Jesus took care of this question straightway...

John 3:8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

Now if you break it down in the Greek you'll find that Jesus wasn't speaking of the wind at all, but rather the Spirit. He wasn't speaking of a sound, but a voice. This reference is clearly that of speaking in tongues and becomes obvious as we witness that which we do, starting in Acts and even now, still going in the present. God Bless, Theo.

Yes, I've heard that interpretation but I can't accept it. There's nothing in that Scripture to connect the blowing of the wind with tongue talking.

The wind of the Spirit blows where it will and this is for sure. It blew on me when I was 6 years of age and there was immediate response from me in that my mind, heart, will and emotions turned to God in belief and repentance. However, there were no tongues at that point.

They came 9 years later!

Who (indeed) is the victor over the world but the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

I go beyond Acts daily, this does no violence to Jesus' teachings. I all works together..if you believe.

Great testimony ... nothing like being born of God.
