They knew the difference, albeit minor ones. That is the point most of you are missing.
They knew the differences. Those same minor differences TODAY would not be noticed. The differences have to be much more glaring, just as our walk with God should be also getting more and more glaringly different and not similar.

No matter how similar, there were distinctions, and the people apparently knew what they were. TODAY, that distinction is that men wear pants and women don't.

That distinction is only known by Apostolics. Anyone outside being Apostolic would think this was nuts that you couldn't tell the difference between men and women in pants.

There are differences between men and women's pants...be it that they are minor or not, there are difference.......that's what the writer is saying about the dress of the Bible times. It was pretty much the same, with a few distinctions..

Sorry, but you're wrong.
Even BEFORE I got back in church, the crowd I hung out with KNEW the lines were getting blurrier and blurrier. We were just too blind to see the implications, or maybe we just didn't care. Probably a combination. Being backslidden I certainly knew a bit of the implications, but I really didn't care.
But, I DID see the changes. I can't believe so many here can't. Well, yeah, I can.
I remember walking down 6th Avenue in NYC and wondering what gender a person was. And it wasn't limited to NYC. I have a hard time believing each and everyone of us hasn't experienced that.
I guess it'll take men (and I use that as loosely as they carry their wrists) starting to wear dresses on a more regular and public basis for you and some others to admit this gender blurring is true.

I understand what you are saying here, but I believe you are talking about a very, very small percentage of people. Mainly, the freaks. Not main stream America.

May be small, but it's getting bigger and bigger.
Example: when women began wearing pants on a regular basis in this country (I think I've seen that being sometimes after WW2), it became even more imperative that Apostolic women continue to wear dresses. As men began to get piercings, it became more imperative that Apostolic men not get them.
The more drastic our culture gets in their dress and behavior, the more drastic Apostolic dress standards will appear. Notice I said "appear", not become.
What required only minor differences in biblical times, requires major differences today. The Jews knew the difference between a man's and a woman's robe. Today, the requirement for distinction in this area is pants and dresses, because the world has made it such, not the Church.
That is why I'm most impressed by those who have not given up their dress standards even though they may appear extreme. They are simply showing -- without changing a single thing -- how much more immodest the world is getting.

It's certainly not a distinction known only to Apostolics. Even the Orthodox Jewish women wear dresses. They definitely understand the principles of distinction between the sexes in manner of dress.
