Oh, it doesn't? Because men in the Bible, including Jesus, wore them? Right.

Clothing is a cultural issue. For over 5,000 years of recorded human history, men AND women wore robes. In our current culture, men AND women wear pants..... or bifurcated garments, if you prefer.

It'd be a little difficult for the verse in Deut. to be referring to pants, since men wore robes back then. Just like the women did.

CULTURE changed, and men started wearing pants. Why? Shouldn't they have continued wearing robes, and not followed the edicts of the world? Shouldn't they have insisted on being separate, and remaining in Biblical attire? Jesus would probably have been considered immodest if he'd walked around looking like you look right now.

Im writing this hear because I don’t in anyway want to offend those that go to my church or disrespect my Pastor but Im so confused...why on earth would people think this? DO we (UPC) tradition holders really think we are the only heaven bound people out there? Like I said we were just visiting and looking around with the POSSIBILITY of leaving but now why would we stay?
Its hurts to think people who have been friends with for so many years could turn their back on us so fast. I in no way would condemn them for holding certain traditions and staying where they are so what gives them the right to do it to me?
Anyway guess I just had to get it off my chest so I didn’t regret calling or emailing someone!...

Unfortunately, when we go through changes in our lives we often find out who our true friends are. Often we may think that we know how those close to us would react or think about certain things. I am sorry to hear how you and your wife have been treated. I've personally experienced the same thing, and it is very hurtful and quite baffling. There is no reason why we as children of God shouldn't hold each other to higher standard. I will be praying for you and your. Be encouraged in the Lord and in the power of his might. God may be allowing you all to go through this situation in order to minister to someone else will deal with this same thing or something similar. I often say it is a good thing that the Lord is the one who decides where we will spend eternity. If it were left to use, we would unjustly condemn each other. Stay on the path God has put you on.
