Good news! Alexis is home with her dad and step mom and the court system has ruled in his favor. The mom is trying to act like she only took her on "vacation", but she had her for over two weeks and didn't tell the dad they were leaving, plus she isn't supposed to take her out of state. ANYTIME I hear the word "kidnapping" I can't help but think that some perp got a hold of and dragged off someones kid.

I WISH they wouldn't call it kidnapping when a parent is the one involved.
Tragedy is the 'broken home' status of children today., so many children are dragged through things relatively unheard of when I was growing up I can at least be thankful that I had a stable home life, now THAT is growing more and more unheard of in these days., poor child can't possibly catch up on all that homework, lol

I am glad that the child is home again., the fact that she doesn't know the truth may seem better for her, but to keep her from it, is not making things any better for her life., 9yrs old TODAY is like 15 was years ago.
She WILL no doubt hear about the truth from other sources, even friends.

First of all it is legally considered kidnapping if they are taken away by force or for longer than term in divorce decree allows or if there is shown intent that they do not intend to return them at due time...Been there done that threw away the tshirt...

When my ex took my kids the first thing the police asked me was when was he told to have them back? When I said on Wed and this was now Sunday... they immediately filed it as a kidnapping.. hadnt even yet heard the rest of the story as to the fact that divorce said they were only allowed to be taken within 150 miles of where I was and I was in Florida and they were on their way to NY??? And that the dad had said he will in no form ever return them to me and to my pastor and to my husband.... yep its kidnapping!

Well its part of the times, I guess, all this domestic turmoil., left and right., it grieves ME I can just imagine how GOD must feel.
YES I've been there done that as well, but my ex and I were rather civil about the whole visitation thing, and that being I was still "in the world" then., it IS a horror not knowing if you will see your kids ever again though, I've seen quite a few LIFETIME movies to know that this is rampant.
One never knows. *sigh* LORD come quickly!

Yes indeed they do! Saddest part is just the other night my oldest who is now 15 said to me mom I almost wish my dad would kidnap me again... the reason for that is that their dad rarely ever sees them anymore... it goes from one extreme to the other. I just thank God that he put my husband in their lives and they know that they can depend upon him no matter what and they have that trust!

I think custody should be shared 50/50 unless there is abuse or neglect involved. I still can't think if it as kidnapping when it is your own children and they are loved. Too bad parents are so selfish that they don't do what is in the best interest of the children. Any adult that puts children in the middle of adult conflicts is an idiot. That's right...I said Idiot [one who doesn't know God].
