Never use big fonts. What I did was write a small java script program that detects screen size and then inserts the appropriate CSS file. Many people just use "em" and inherited font sizes and this is supposed to adjust well but it seems kinda involved to me. I'd rather just have one font size and let the viewers resize if need be

The only thing the site needs is a picture of Sister Jeanie wearing a veil.

Never use a serif font on a computer or internet. A serif font is like Times New Roman and has the little "feet" at the bottem of letters like Ts T _this is Times New Roman Serif font
This is a sans Serif font...meaning it's without the serif part :-)
Publisher inserts a lot of "code" too that is unnessesary for markup and positioning and just makes the file sizes longer

Also I have a free CSS menu maker that is really cool, comes with the images and everything. You can customize them pretty easy. Then all you do is cute and paste the code where you want the menu to appear (within an HTML take like a table cell or in a DIV tag). Called CSS Tab designer....can really improve the looks and function of a website. It's free and kinda fun to play with

For a paid web designer not expensive Namo is pretty cool. In fact I was able to get a free version (older) that isn't too bad.

Do you have office? An older version maybe might have come with Frontpage, you can use that to make a website and it will come out better.
