I'm actually very good at bait fishing. However, I had never fished this river before. The guide set my dad and I up with different bait than what HO was using. Different colors too. The purpose of this was to see what the fish are biting on. Well, my dad was pretty quick to switch over to HO's bait and colors after she started catching the most fish. However, I prefered to wait and experiment with bait and colors that I had been successful with on the Little Red River. I caught a couple this way before finally switching to what seemed to be the bait of the day...HO's bait and colors. I started catching more fish immediately.
While its true that I lure fish in Wisconsin, I had never had any luck in AR with lures and quickly switched to nothing but bait fishing (on the Little Red when I lived in TN and drove over). I ALWAYS caught my limit (and then some) with bait on the Little Red. So...HO is using my "experience with lures" and her lack of experience with the same as an EXCUSE for getting beat fair and square...well...it would be fair and square if HO didn't try to count fish that never even got in the net!!!!!!!!!!!! She didn't mention THAT either! She wanted to count every fish that got on the hook even if it got off before getting netted!
The moral to this story is twofold...
1. The race is not to the bragger that starts off with a bang but to those who run well to the very end!
2. Cheaters never win!
It's obvious that you are still upset that I was so skilled early on!

HeavenlyOne and I are making a trip to Arkansas to see my parents.
My dad has booked a guided trout fishing trip on the White River near Mountain Home for ALL DAY Saturday!
When I lived in the Memphis area, I used to fish the Little Red River and loved it but I never made it to the White River which is world reknown for its record sized trout. Especially big ole brown trout!
I trout fish here in WI too but its not the same as Arkansas fishing. Trout fishing here is hard and the big fish are rare.
HeavenlyOne has never trout fished...this will be an experience for her she won't soon forget.
I can't wait! Eat your heart out guys and gals! But wish us LUCK on Sat.!
Whoo Pig Sooie!!!!!!! Welcome to Arkansas!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! They are all mine. LR threw hers back because I got the limit first! Hahahahahahaha!!!
Ah she wishes! With the exception of my DAD's fish pictured, they are ALL in MY freezer! I wonder why!
HO also set the record for catching the "baby" fish...poor thing had barely learned how to swim!
She also failed to mention that she wouldn't have caught 16 had it not been for me. She would have stopped at 12 except I felt sorry for her and gave her one of my lures so that she could catch a few more. LOL!

Skilled?!?
If it weren't for the guide giving you bait and me giving you the right lure, and both of us coaching you, you would have simply went for a scenic ride!
