Too Much Wine for the Old Wimmin???

If we desire our children and grandchildren to be blessed, we need

to start early, obeying the Word of God. Read and study God's Word

and get it in you. Pass a love for it to your children. The blessing of the

children lie in the obedience of their parents, and grandparents, before the

parents. First generation apostolics means God has entrusted you with

the saving of your house. My paternal grandmother was very devout, and

walking in all the truth she knew. When she heard more, she checked it out

and obeyed it. Many of her family, including her mother, a charter member

of the Methodist church for 48 yrs. My grandmother had been a member for

21 yrs. and my dad was 14 yrs. old, when they visited the "holiness meeting"

in their very small town in north Texas in 1933. Dad wrote in his notes that

it was reported that over 1500 people came from near and far to see what

this new movement was all about. Their family went out of curiousity. When

Grandmother heard what Bro. J.R. Graves was preaching, she determined she

would go home and search the scriptures and "prove that preacher wrong". In

searching she indicted herself and admitted it was indeed true and she

promptly obeyed it after she proved it! My dad followed and also obeyed.

They daily studied the Word of God. They purposed in their hearts that no-

one would ever deceive them again as they would learn for themselves

what "thus saith the Word of God".

Grandmother changed the course in 1933 for not only her family and many

family members who at the time thought she had lost her mind. No, she was

finding the "mind of Christ". The decision she made, she made not only for

herself, but gave five generations of her family a chance to hear the gospel.

Thank you, Grandma, for daring to turn from the traditions of your family,

and turn to the Lord Jesus with all your heart. You were dying in the late

1920's, but you asked God if He would see fit, to let you raise your three

young children. Dad was 8, his brother 5 and his little sister, 2 1/2 yrs. I

rise up and call you blessed today, although you have gone on up the way,

out of sight. We're still journeying that direction.

So, all you parents and grandparents that may be waiting for someone

else to make that difference in your children's future, you'd better get a

move on NOW. You birthed them. Now make a difference so that when

they get here or become old enough to obey for themselves, preparation

will have been made for their salvation. Noah obeyed God and prepared

an ark to the saving of his own house. Don't expect someone to take care

of what you have birthed. Some really good information, IF you can receive

it!! And this "old wommin hadn't been drinking no wine either"!!

Blessings,

Spirit (new wine)! Someone had better stay sober and try the

spirits, to see if they be of God. The aged men are told to be

sober. and the aged women are told to teach the young women

to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, among

other things. And the young men are exhorted to be sober-minded.

My late pastor father told of a young, popular man in the church

that was founded after he and my grandmother received the Holy

Ghost. He said the man would shout and dance and make a lot of

noise and many thought him to be so spiritual. But he said you had

better not trust him with your daughter, after church in the dark.

We are living in a day when someone had better stay sober and

watch. When people close their eyes and shout and dance, they

can perhaps "get in the spirit" and be in another world, but we live

in a real world and it is not always pretty. There is the reality of

what is real and what is not!! That is why there is a real need for

true spiritual discernment. I am not in any way speaking against a

real move of God. But every shout and every loud noise, whether it

be music or shouting or other, is not GOD!!(Aaron & the golden calf)

I believe what is being spoken in Titus is speaking of the older men

or women, not being totally caught up in emotion and becoming

drunk in a way where they cannot discern properly. Go to a place

of night entertainment. Old and young alike sway and dance and

live in a "make believe" world for a period of time. They drink and

feel good momentarily but in the morning when they wake up, do

they have a reason to feel good or are they ashamed. We are told

to watch and be sober. Some have become so drunk they have taken

their clothes off. Elderly people many times are put on so much medi-

cation and if not watched, will take their clothes off.

We must watch and be sober and not become drunken in the night,

and be awakened at midnight to find the bridegroom has come and

no oil in our lamps. Let us be ready lest in the midnight Jesus comes

for us, and when we this old outward man is pulled from us, the new

man inside will be clothed (righteousness) and we, not be found "naked".

Also, how do we come into this world. One (unless twins or otherwise)

at a time. Will we leave the same way? One at a time? Are we taken,

like the two grinding at the mill, or the two in a bed, one taken and one

left. I know many, many people that were taken and the other left.

Isaiah 27:12 "........and ye shall be gathered one by one, O ye children

of Israel.

Thank you, Bro. Ferd,

The value in LISTENING to those who have traveled the

road of life, is that there are "dangers" and "pitfalls"

and perhaps a "bridge out". And if those traveling behind

will look for the "signs" along the way, they have been left there

by those who have traveled along that "road of life" on up

ahead, who cared enough to take the time to leave "warnings",

for those coming behind. I thank God for those who I "traveled"

with for many years and heard their "warnings" and "concerns"

and I saw their lives. They were my examples, given by God.

I knew they endeavored by His grace and mercy, to follow and

to please Him. So I have not been afraid to follow their example.

Our children and grandchildren are following behind us. I do not

have any fear as long as I can hear His Voice and follow where

He leads. There have always been God-given leaders from the

Old to the New Testaments. Those who followed the Voice of

the Living God made it through any situation. Those who didn't

follow where He led, their story is there too!!! May all who come

behind us, find us faithful!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
We have already come. Tis grace that brought
us safe thus far. And grace will lead us home.

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared

to ALL men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly

lusts, we should live SOBERLY, righteously, and godly in this

present (Now) world; Looking for the blessed hope, and the

glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from ALL ini-

quity, and PURIFY unto himself a peculiar (purchased) people,

zealous of good works. These things speak, and exhort, and

rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee".

-Titus 2:11-15, KJV
