well then at least your misplaced statist zeal might be forgiven. Poverty may not "cause" crime, but surely rampant inequality does, especially combined with the endless prosperity programming from tv, and enforced through for-profit prisons. You misunderstand Jesus.
When I became a Christian I fell in with the humble ones.
Christians are the humble ones.

The Lord bless me because I worked hard to earn everything that I now have.
In America you can still rise from abject poverty.
In other countries it is a lot harder, too many obstacles.
Rampant inequality is really rampant in other countries.
I am not rich, but I have enough.
