I read that other thread. The question I would ask is, how many people who take those drugs, have *NEVER* done anything violent. I imagine the number is far higher than those who have. I'm not saying the drugs don't play a part, but I'd argue that certain people are simply more reactive to their affects than most. Those people should not have been put on them, but that doesn't mean those drugs are evil and will cause violence.

Please explain how seceding from the Union is treason if done under the authority of the people of a State and not its state government.

When they were Ottomans they were no longer Turks?
The Greeks will be happy to know that.

Shouldn't that be left up to the people of the state where the flag is flown?
If Florida wanted to fly a Jolly Roger over our State Building and the people of the wonderful state of Florida agreed, then whose business is it other than Floridians who voted? My point concerning flags is that we have to let the people decide and not the media.

Thank goodness that is taken care of. My mind is at rest.

Realistically this far a long after a mass shooting we're usually talking about taking guns.......
........ so you have to admit this a step in the right direction.

Yes. You're right.
In case you missed it though, apparently people have been protesting in the State of South Carolina. So the issue has been brought back into the media as of late as it has periodically since the 1960s when the flag was first flown over the capitol and probably will until it finally becomes irrelevant enough to take down. Now South Carolina will make the decision as a state whether or not that day has come.
Personally I could care less about the flag. I can't say I'm a fan though; of confederate flags or jolly rangers.

Still it should always be left up to the voters, not the protesters, not the state's politicians regardless of what the voters want.

If I remember correctly it was the state's legislature that put the thing up in the first place. So it's the state legislature that should and can make the decision to take it down. If the voters have a problem with it they should take it up with their democratically elected officials at the polls.

Did anyone vote to take it down?
