Keep on and I'll write the New And Improved More Holy Than Thou Apostolic New Testament Version (the NAIMHTTANTV) to go into direct competition with your rewrite. It'll include such tidbits as....
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.
I'm warning ya!!

Today the pastor stated that in the 4 years our church has been in existence a total of about 350 people have been baptized in Jesus name.
This weekend was one of our quarterly Friday night Praise & Worship services that started the ball rolling with a baptismal service at the conclusion. 10 people were baptized then.
This morning at the 9 am service 4 more were baptized and my wife just got home from the 11 am service and said about 7 people were baptized at it.
We have one more service to go today (6pm) which I think is our largest and
certainly the one with the youngest demographic (lots of college kids). it wiill be interesting to see how many are baptized then. Right now the total for this weekend is about 20.
The last time we did a Praise & Worship Friday and Baptism weekend we baptized a total of 43 people.
I will update with a total after tonight and try to remember down the road when the baptism sermon comes on up our website to post a link in case anybody wants to watch it. The podcast of the sermon should be up on itunes probably tomorrow. (you could search by the pastor's name "Corey Trimble" or the church name "The Experience Community".
EDIT UPDATE - TOTAL COUNT FOR FOLKS BAPTIZED THIS WEEKEND IS 41

This is a great idea. I would like our church to try it. I'm going to bring it up, my pastor is always willing to try anything.

It also is an opener to talk to folks. Many of them have a void in their life and that is why they are at a bar in the first place. This young woman was at church with her mother so really that outreach resulted in two people coming to church.

You need to let go of your bitterness.

Re: 350 People Baptized In Jesus Name
Here is a link to the media page on The Experience Community website. If my link works correctly it should be to the video of Habakkuk Chapter 3 from a few Sundays ago.
We go through the Bible by book then every chapter and every verse. At least every verse until we get to the genealogies. then I wonder what pastor will do? LOL
This is not your father's church as you will see. For those of you entrenched in the mindset that church and preaching must be a certain way you will not like it probably. However the intent is to reach a generation that doesn't want anything to do with organized religion because they find it pretentious, artificial, etc. This does not mean it is. I have no problem with traditional church and am very comfortable with it. I am also over 50 years old and raised in church so it is the norm for me.

Si Si Juan (You in Espaniol) lol....
I did this ministry too. It is a neat idea. I would say that the people that are out there having these convos with people are incredible too because that is a very touchy topic, church and God, to anyone let alone drunk people. That is sweet man!!!

At a leadership meeting a few weeks ago one of the BAR ministry leaders was telling a funny story about how a young man had come up to them the previous weekend and told them he wanted to apologize to them because a week or two before he had been verbally abusive to them and very ugly. He not only apologized but gave them a $20 offering and told them to keep up the good work, that he appreciated them and what they were doing.
