Re: Christian D-Day!
Humanistic psychology is trying to meet
people's problems IN the majority
of the churches today.
That's why it's hard to find a good church.

To be honest, most Apostolic churches are clueless. They'll spend hours harping on the doctrine, but will rarely ever deal with "real life" issues. They don't teach people how to live life abundantly.
Have problems? They'll tell you to just "pray about it", which is like telling a hungry person "Just imagine that you're not hungry, it will be fine".
People slam Osteen and his compatriots, but he's doing something right - he has over 40,000 people who flock to the stadium every Sunday.
How many attend the church where you attend?
And, I really get tired of people saying "There's no power in my church", but failing to take personal responsibility to bring the power.
Sorry for my rant, but I'm tired of supposedly "holy" people who are disguising their lack of power behind a cloak of holiness - i.e., we have the truth, which is why people don't come to our church! They'd rather go somewhere where they can believe a lie.
HOGWASH!
If you had answers for people, they'd be filling up the aisles.....

Lol. Numbers mean nothing.
One thing Osteen does right is
ear tickling, telling them what
they WANT to hear.

Wrong. He tells them how to live better lives. Something Jesus did......but, many Apostolic churches don't do.
How many times do you find Jesus in church? Compare that to the amount of times you find him going thru the cities and towns, healing people, delivering them from their bondage, etc.
He didn't preach a lot of doctrine. He taught them how to live life more abundantly.
And you say numbers don't matter.........does your church take attendance? If so, why?

And, also, how many of Joel Osteen's messages have you actually listened to? Have you ever attended his church? Watched his program on TV? Listened on the radio?

So, in other words, the Word is only true if it's spoken by someone who believes just like you do??????

Re: Christian D-Day!
It is infinitely more important
that you be in a church that preaches
the truth and takes a stand than
that your teens attend "the most exciting youth program,"
or that your kids are in one of
these glorified playgrounds (called "children's ministries")
so they can play games and stay entertained,
or that your church has a softball team,
or that it has the prettiest buildings, or that it has music you think is "just right," or that it is the "premier church in town"
for social gatherings or business contacts.
And yes, I have heard Osteen.

Well, let's see......what I hear in this video is that Joel believes that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, but he's going to let God be the judge of those who don't share his viewpoint.
That's what's got you all riled up?
