Jim Yohe started FaithChild forum many years ago. He was UPC, leaning a bit to the left. He liked to stretch people's thinking......get them thinking outside the box. He was even known to get into "fights" or "arguments" with his own alter-persona just to stir things up a bit.
Jim Yohe passed away. FaithChild was then administered by ________ after Jim's passing. There was a bit of a falling out between the administrator and Jim's sister, so FaithChild was shut down.
Jim's sister, Vicki Yohe, started NewFaithChild Forum. She enlisted St.Matthew to be the administrator and Matt asked a few of us to be admins. Vicki found out something was going on "behind the scenes" with a couple posters and shut the place down. No warning - just shut it down.
So, the admins that were left valued the following and came up with AFF. We decided to keep from another forum being shut down due to one owner, that the smart thing to do was have several co-owners all accountable to each other. A couple of UPC pastors wanted in on the action and offered to pay for everything. We didn't allow that because we didn't want that held over our heads if things weren't going like they wanted. We were "co-owners". And, what money they put into it was reimbursed in time with money that we made from ads on AFF.
There was yet another "parting" of the more conservative side of the owners and I was given a heads-up that they were shutting down NFCF. I asked them to give me a couple days before they did that. I got with the remaining admins that were left and we were able to carry on with AFF.
I retired as a co-owner over a year or so ago.
I think that's pretty close to the way it all unfolded.
