For Margie:

Thanks, Jermyn. We may not ever agree on the Romney vs. Obama issue. But I do honor the fact that you have served our country and thank you for that service. You're right tho - I did not know you had served.

At the same time, I still defend Romney's choice to not serve in Vietnam. For those of you too young to remember how it was back in the late '60's-early 70's, you really can't understand how anyone could have made that choice. I'm not even sure that I understand how they did. But I defend their right to have made that choice. That's what freedom is all about.

He purposely looked for every loop hole available to him so that he would not serve his country.

His was a series of actions that reflected his cowardice and lack of desire to serve when his country needed him most.

Again, why was it a valid criticism of Obama that he had never served, but it's not a valid criticism to point out that this bozo PURPOSELY did all that he could so that he would not serve?

It's hypocrisy, pure and simple.

GOP HYPOCRISY!
When Obama ran against McCain, thousands were jumping on the candy stick of pointing out that Obama didn't serve in the military!
Some people opt out of certain wars for other reasons than being cowards

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Ok, being real here.

Are you honestly going to tell me that it was valid to criticize Obama's lack of military service but acceptable for Romney to purposely dodge serving his country at a time when his nation needed him most?

If you answer yes, tell me then if you also see the hypocrisy in such a stance.

Re: romney is a draft dodger

The draft was ended long ago, so as long as we sign up for selective service at 18 what is the problem. The draft did not give us a choice, we now have a choice to sign up.

How does this post have anything to do with the matter at hand?
