Enjoy the short term victory DM. As furious as I am over this decision, I see this in the big picture as a boon to Romney and the GOP. Just as the passage of Obamacare against popular opinion in 2010 paved the way for the massive victory of the GOP in the midterms and the emergence of the Tea Party, this decision will be pointed to, along with the flagging economy as the two main reasons why Obama was defeated in November. Watch the stock market. Watch the polls. The 50/50 dead heat stats are going to shift inRomney's favor.

Romney supports a mandate. Whether that is on the Federal or State level, it's socialism and it's a big government grab. I don't see a difference between the two.
Romney was one of the loudest, imploring voices for adopting the Obamacare/individual mandate and then, during the presidential campaign, lied by denying it. That is just another very long litany of lies which keeps us from having any confidence in the guy. Pimp him to someone else.

Their religions are similar as are the policies they have supported. Just because he maneuvered to the right for this election cycle, doesn't make him a Conservative. Oh, wait, he said he is a "severe" Conservative.
Newt said that he might turn out to be a good President and he might, but I'm not giving this man one inch of leeway. He has a huge documented, flip-flopping record. He has to earn that trust and his words are not enough for me. I want to see him do something. Unfortunately, we will not know that until he is voted in.

All of that is true. However, we DO know what Obama will do and I for one will vote for anyone but him.

Yes, we do know and we have a Constitution and a military that takes an oath to uphold the Constitution. I do not fear Obama.

The military will follow the orders of the President. Not sure what your point was with that statement. Unfortunatly, unless we are attacked, the military has no rights on our own soil. So either the Pres would have to envoke martial law or their would have to be a military coup. Neither of which is likely.

I was referring to an idea floating around that Obama would stop elections. A friend of mine spoke to someone higher up in the military and he told her that the military would never let that happen. That they would defend the Constitution. So, they won't allow him to reach as far as some are trying to fear monger about. Sorry, I didn't clearly lay out my thought process.

But if Maritial Law is declared doesn't that stop the voting?
He does have that power.
