crabapple trees are expensive? wow, I didn't know that. We think they're pretty much useless around here and tend to pull them out whenever we see them. There are a couple growing down by the railroad tracks near here. Too bad there wasn't a way to send 'em to you, Cindy. Or even a start from one. I don't know how the nurseries do that - send live plants in the mail. Do you??
by the way, I would swear that the picture is of a Dogwood Tree. My neighbor has one we've been babying for years around here. Sooo pretty. Actually, she had two. One white. One pink. But sadly, my neighbor has died. And I don't know who will be living in their house now Hope they are as good as my friends who died tho.
I am not sure how they do it either, Margie. We have ordered some from catalogs and got them in the mail. They are usually in a little plastic bag, and you keep them in the refrigerator until you plant them.
Hope you get a great neighbor.

Yeah, they might. But, no way I would go to first Monday. Good grief.

Oh, come on! Just go hang out in Dog Alley. Haha! That was our hang out for most of the day, then went across the street, on the north side of 64, to the pavillions over there and bought some Texas-style end tables.
Anyway, Dog Alley is where I saw some small landscape plots. None of them had a crabapple tree, but I did see some azaleas. Of course, I was drooling when I saw them. Surprisingly, azaleas do quite well in this black clay, as long as they aren't set in flood-prone bedding...
Margie, the similarities are definitely there with a Dogwood and Crabapple. If I saw a Dogwood here in the Dallas/North Texas area, I'd almost guarantee it was planted with plenty of Ironite around and below the roots. The might grow much better as close as a Sulphur Springs-Terrell-Corsicana line and points east. The more sandy/acidic the soil, the better they'll do...

Everytime I see the title of this thread I am reminded of that song, WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THIS? IT'S AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH! WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THIS? IT'S AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH? WHAT KIND OF CHURCH IS THIS? IT'S AN APOSTOLIC CHURCH!
IT'S A HAND CLAPPIN, IT'S AN ISLE RUNNIN, IT'S A PEW JUMPIN, IT'S A DEVIL STOMPIN, IT'S A PENTCOSTAL APOSTOLIC CHURCH!
(I really dislike this song as much as the I'M A PENTECOSTAL song)
