So I can see both sides here. For me personally, I reserve the right to make the decisions in my home, and in most cases it may be ever more strict then these guidelines.

Having said that, do alot of Apostolic pastors feel that anyone outside of Apostolica is considered "unequally yoked", or is it just strictly a rule for mixing with a sinner? I ask that question mainly because even in the Apostolic church their are loose people. I have heard of many horror stories with church lock-ins etc.
The "unequally yoked" part is far too often made into a denominational thing and even, occasionally, turned into a "keep it within these 4 walls" rule.

Re: Dating Guidelines

Because we are so very different theologically from all other religious denominations (with the exception of other Oneness orgs.), it is a policy that one does not date or marry anybody from outside of the Oneness Pentecostal movement that has not had the entire Acts 2:38 experience.

Re: Dating Guidelines

interesting thoughts. However, as an adult looking for a woman I do have my rules.
I am a predator and I like to hunt my female prey. i really hope that she likes to get hit with an arrow in her heart. I am my own cupid.

I hope you don't look like one of these characters when you go on the hunt!

No, I wear my Davy Crocket coat and cowboy boots. I wrestle panthers and ride lightening bolts, also I can jump the Mississippi in a single leap.

I can believe that. I wrestle them two at a time, lightening is entirely too slow, and I do just step over the Mississippi.

(I lived a while in Texas, and everything is biggger there.)

Wink Re: Dating Guidelines

This made me think of ABI and dating rules.

If you can imagine.....college age students _________

No dates for freshman the first semester.
You couldn't go on a date if you weren't current on school loan or dorm fees.
If I recall it was only 1 date a month

Needless to say, this encouraged what was termed.....an illegal date

And thus the "Dating Mafia" was born!

I understand the need for stricter than normal guidlines, especially at a bible college, but I also know from others that have attended ABI how ridicules it got. I mean, we ARE talking about voting age adults here.
