God manifested in localized forms more than once. But it was not directly God. No man has seen God at any time, and that was stated long after Moses saw glory and Jesus walked the earth.

Joh 20:27 Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. 28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.

Thomas wasn't seeing God?

Gen 32:30 And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.

Jacob wasn't seeing God?

Re: What happened to the body of Jesus

You cannot take just certain scriptures and form a doctrine or opinion...would it not be better to put them all down somewhere and examine them...such as No man hath seen God at any time...God is a Spirit....etc...

No. No man saw God at any time. They saw what GOD MANIFESTED IN, but never actually saw God. You cannot see God since He is everywhere present and is invisible.

What does this verse mean to you?

1 John 4:12 KJV No man hath seen God at any time. ..

Are you saying John wrote a lie? If not, what did John mean?

Exactly, so since we were not there, and we are not Stephen, who's to say he didn't see Jesus and a bright light or something that represented the glory of God? Who's to say that God is inhabiting Jesus' body?

I think it would be good if man would just let God be God and admit there are many mysteries that are not important for us to know the answers to. I like that we don't understand everything in the Bible, I like that I can't put God in a box and claim I have all the answers and know the "truth" that others can't figure out.

In John 1:1-18 and 1 John 1:1-4, the Apostle talks about the Word/Logos/Memra/Angel/Messenger that was in the beginning and who was with God and was God. He describes the Word as the agent of creation of all things that are made. He goes on to say that the Word was in the world and the world was made by Him but the world knew/recognized Him not. He said the Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He said that he and others had seen, touched, watched and interacted with this Word. Then in verse 18 of John 1 he said, "No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known]."

God existed as far back as we can know as an omnipresent, eternal, invisible, transcendent Spirit and as a local, visible, immanent, touchable persona known as the Word/Logos/Memra/Angel/Messenger

Great stroke, touche', how'd you do that?
we cannot truly define God with our little minds..He is far beyond our comprehension, which is perhaps pat of the reason why when he fills us with his spirit he over does it or as David said , "my cup runneth over" ..that's God more than enough...and we never stop learning that he is more than we'll ever know..
as soon as we put Him in a box, we find out the box is too small..
