Will be praying for you all, Abi! Doesn't look good on the radar map! Our local weather is reporting severe weather for North Texas as well.

We're good for now, unless more storms form west of us. Lots of lightning, rain and wind blowing our chairs around the yard. I kept watching to see if it would cart off the kids' new trampoline but it stayed put.

My kids and their friends have been so fatalistic all evening--I guess because Joplin is so fresh on their brains. Texting one another, saying that they love one another and that if *anything happens* they've been a great friend, etc. Kids are so funny.

This is Sarah, prepared for "softball sized hail." (We didn't actually get any hail.)

Re: Tornados... 89+ dead in Joplin, MO

My son and I just got back from Joplin. In some of the worst places, it looked like nothing but a dump site for as far as we could see. Many houses completely not even there, maybe a remaining foundation. It was worse than anything Ive seen before.

Im convinced the missing #'s will turn into a higher death toll, but I sure hope to be wrong.

That system moved through here with several tornadoes in it. We had some rain and hail, but the closest twister was about 30 miles away. Some injuries reported in Sedalia, MO.

Lord watch over and protect the people in the path of these storms, in Jesus name, Amen.

Well, we had our round of bad weather last night! There was a funnel cloud a couple blocks from my son's house (I was there with them)....ugh!

Heard on the news this morning that there was over 81 tornadoes last night from the Ohio Valley down to our area. Just nuts!!

We had our horrible round of weather as well. I wasn't expecting it. Glad it's over. Hit us sometime after midnight.
