Right now Harold Egbert is extremely stressed, not so much due to the world knocking on his door, as much as (yet more!) incessant number crunching. He's not counting money, because he has been independently wealthy for a LONG time, and draws no salary from Family Radio or any associated religious activities, according to IRS reports. Much of the "billboard campaign" was merely HC believers taking their own intiatives, not necessarily being directed by HC to do so. (The doomsday busses tours, however, were indeed sponsored by Family Radio contributions, think I read.)

Rather, he is crunching numbers because that is one basis for his approach to the Bible--that the Bilble is a very "analytical book," (his term) and can be trusted down to the smallest jot, tittle, and comma. This includes numbers and mathematics, which HC loves to indulge.

His 89 yr. old appearance and speech patterns were already "one foot in the grave" perhaps, so no tellin' when he will emerge with a new theory. (Prolly soon enough.) But possibly May 21 was the end of the world for him-- let's hope at least the end of the road, for others' sakes.

No offense to anyone else, but I am just now convinced that the rapture did not take place. Thank God that he yet tarries.
