Good point. It wasn't metaphorical at all, in that case.

So, is it literally true that one of the signs that will follow you guys is that you will take up serpents? Or is that one turn into a metaphor at some time after Paul's experience?

How does "They shall take up serpents" not fit what they do?

Right. Paul didn't take up a serpent. The serpent took up Paul... or tried to.

This is the same logic that Atheists use to invalidate the Bible as a whole. Mk. 16:17 is inherently prophetical "These signs S-H-A-L-L foloow them....".

Curiously, there was no mention "women preaching" !

Honestly, AFF is a waste of time.........."Ye are they who justify yourselves before men....".

Are you kidding? No way, no how. I've been to a couple of serpent handling services, but never have, and, hopefully, never will.

I was just havin' a little fun.

I've read your "explanations" of I Tim. 2. You [& everyone else I've ever read] attempt to relegate the passages to the "home environment." Paul expressly wrote the epistle "...so that you may know how to behave yourself in the house-hold of God, WHICH IS THE CHURCH...". I've quoted this until I could pass out, yet you just plod along like it's not there.

As I've repeatedly said, I certainly & highly respect you for your sacrifices, but cannot see how in the world some-one can attempt to justify "women preacher's" in light of clear biblical commands....'round & 'round she goes!

rdp, just because you can't see something doesn't really mean much seeing as you couldn't even grasp what we were saying on the jewelry thread. Or if you did grasp it then you just ignored it and plodded on which is worse than not seeing it.

When Jesus gave the great comission was there only men present?I dont remember him telling the women to stay home while the men went out and preached the gospel.
