I've live in a beach state and I've never seen or heard of a beach where a modest, one-piece swimsuit would be out of place. And if such a place exists, neither you nor I should probably be there anyway getting our eyes full.
As far as me respecting personal choice....I'm expressing an opinion if that's ok with you. You're expressing one of your own.

BTW, Dan, there was a group in Oregon or Washington who advertised modest activewear in the early 90s. They mailed a brochure to the church I then attended. The women thought the outfits were wonderful. They also thought the prices were outrageous. And NOW, yes, those outfits are wonderful, at least for some women. Wearing skirts all the time can be very frustrating. It's very hard to do a lot of fun and even necessary things modestly in a skirt--even riding a bike or playing softball risks flipping your skirt too high and being immodest. These types of designs give alternative ways to enjoy those activities and still follow conscience.

Gee that probably what all the teachers in this beach city say.I worked for the school districtfor 23yrs. I could never figure why a girl could come to class dressed with less on her body than a cheer leader and have a sign at the door of the classroom for boys to tuck their shirt tails in.

Though I can imagine they might be more appropriate for snowboarding, when someone is coming down a mountain rather quickly, how many people are going to notice whether they have on blousy ski pants or a ski skirt? I doubt most people on the slopes will really care what someone else is wearing.
I was surprised before Christmas when I went to an outdoor "Bethlehem Revisited". There is a lot of walking, a lot of standing, and way too much cold. About 1/3 to 1/2 of the denominational women who took those tours wore skirts over their pants that night, for an extra layer of warmth. No one thought they were crazy or looked out of place at all.
