Sorry Sam,
We dont have to try to find something to justify the Apostles doctrine. It stands right there in the book of Acts. It is simple enough to see for those who look at what was happening.
First sermon preached in the New Testament Church. Unsaved people asking what is required for them to do.
The Apostles answer:
Repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:38
The Apostles doctrine trumps Encyclopedias, Church Fathers or anything else when it comes to proving what they taught.
Same with the Godhead.
A comparison of
Isaiah 9:6 to Matt. 28:19 gives a nice revelation about who Jesus is.
I have never read any of this "scholars" work and dont feel I have to as scripture is powerul and quite sufficient in the matters you mention.
