You talk a lot about things you know even less about.

Wow! You need to read all the things Jesus said about judgmentalism. If you met Chris Hodges, you would be amazed at his humility and love for God. You know NOTHING about what you're talking about.

Re: The Other General Conference in Houston 9.13-1

I'd like to say I have major theological issues with Osteen, but he doesn't give us enough rope to hang him with.

The Gospel should be our message. Sometimes I'm not sure it's his.

The Gospel is not about being a better person, being happier, being "all that you can be," living your "best life" and all the other pop culture/psychology ........ that so many pulpits are filling up with.... an amalgamation of Western ideals of success with a very Eastern Gospel.

The Gospel is about carrying crosses. The promise of LIFE, being freed from death, trusting Jesus in blessing and in suffering. It's our Story. It's not a infomercial listing all the perks for choosing Jesus. When you see it for what it is, you realize there is no other option, He is the Way.

After reading Leonard Sweet's Jesus Manifesto, I'm convinced many pulpits are absent of the Gospel, and have Dr. Phil psychologists instead. We don't need a back rub, we need Jesus.

Neither Haggee or Osteen would be ideal speakers for cutting edge Spirit-led fellowships.

One would rather be dogmatic about his crazed eschatology, the other leaves us constantly left short.

I heard a UPC preacher say, 20 years ago, that this is what the church world is becoming. He seems to have hit that on the mark, IMO. It's what I am seeing.

It's interesting to note, the early Church had no Gospel. In fact, mass produced Bibles didn't begin until the 1400's, and those were in Latin.

The "Church" deemed all those who possessed a Bible in the 1500's as disobedient and worthy of death. Many were burned at the stake and imprisoned under the charge of owning a Bible.

Our knowledge of our current Gospel is quite new if you consider the human race as a whole.

Could we live for God without a "Gospel" or Bible?

Birds of a feather flock together. Their false doctrine causing thousands to believe a lie and be damned. Chris say Jesus is the Second PERSON of the Trinity.
