“If you as a believer want to understand what this movement is really about, you must avail yourself of a practice that is in much disdain in our day. It's called theological education! And I'm not just talking about Bible study! You desperately need to understand that the Bible itself needs to be accurately interpreted as to what it is saying and teaching. You need to understand that there are competing theological paradigms that people in church leadership will not educate you to, either because they don't understand them themselves, or because it's to their advantage to keep you ignorant of them, leading you around by the nose, perhaps for years, before you figure out what it's all about..
If you do not do this, you will not be able to appreciate the importance of what I and many others are trying to say to you. Instead, you will be brainwashed into "submission to authority" and other intimidating arguments in a way that is far removed from traditional Protestant philosophy.

So if what you are seeking is
TRADITIONAL PROTESTANT PHILOSOPHY believe whatever the writer says. I have no interest in Protestant Tradition myself.
I am looking at IHOP from where they are today not where they were 10 or 15 years ago. Bickles biggest mistake was his association with Paul Cain and Bob Jones. When I first read the book I admit it sounded very exciting. I could not buy into it however because they were still operating basically from a Protestant foundation.
Cain and Jones are not at IHOP NOW. I have been watching it almost daily for 4-5 months and have not heard them mentioned. Even Mike Bickle himself is never mentioned in the prayer room Broadcast and I cant remember him being mentioned once even at their awakening meetings that have been going on for months.
He is there for Sunday meetings when I have watched. If you will click his statement of faith you will see he disavows those elements of the Latter rain movement which are false such as "taking over the Governments of the world" before the rapture or a hyper prosperity teaching.
What most dont understand is that the teaching of the "Manchild Overcomers" is true doctrine. There will be an end time restoration of truth and ministry. Not everything about the so called Latter rain movement is false.
Sure most of the
BIG NAME TEACHERS of it are still walking in Protestant error and some are following false spirits. That does not change the scriptural message of holiness and faith which is the basis of the Manchild or "Latter Rain" movement.
IHOP to me is one of the very few Churches I know of that interests me. They seem to be (slowly) moving in the right direction. Not that they are fully there. I will continue to watch what goes on there and pray for them.
