Shag, So sad. This is exactly how that slippery slope starts. One day you are using a little makeup to cover vericose veins on your legs and the next you are sitting in a bar looking like the late Tammy Faye Bakker or Jan Crouch!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

  1. There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
  2. The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

My wife is 36 and has never worn ANY form of makeup including shoe polish on her eyes ( Apostolic reference). The whole JCM episode stirred me strongly in the Holy Ghost and I can say I'm determined with the help of the Lord to stand for holiness and separation.
I want to also say that I teach my children to love women wearing makeup etc. It seems like many liberals "think" we teach our children hate, well I have NEVER seen that to be the case. I have had family members and friends through the years compromise on the dress code and separation from the world and it was not long until more sin was made clearly manifest.

Thank you for the appeal. My wife does not feel a conviction to not wear makeup, and neither do I for her. If she ever does feel a conviction to not wear it, I am sure she will follow that conviction. Lord Bless.

Although, seeing as yisroelm's account was just created today, and has only 20 posts (most of them in standards threads) I'd say this is just an alt of a current member who is trying to stir the pot, and not a sincere post. Just my 2 cents.

Actually he was here a while back with a similar screen name. In an earlier post he stated who he used to be. After chatting with him quite a bit under his last screen name, I think he's legit. He's genuinely an ultra-ultra-ultra conservative.

He also usually always has a good attitude. I enjoyed his posts last time he was here.

Due to my super duper Admin powers I did some checking and I also think he is legit. I thought it might possibly be another poster just kidding around because the posts are so stereotypical.

What keeps khakis from being dress pants?
